Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a first school in Redditch. You will take full classroom responsibility for a Year 2 class, deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, and support pupils to achieve good learning outcomes.

The role is full-time, starting in January until the end of the academic year. ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome, with DBS and two strong references required.

Qualifications

• Has QTS or is due to achieve QTS.
• ECTs and experienced teachers encouraged to apply.
• Experience teaching in a primary or first school setting.
• Experience teaching KS1, ideally Year 2.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and Year 2 expectations.
• Proven ability to assess and monitor pupil progress.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Strong communication and relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.
• Ability to plan, prep, assess and report for a class.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• DBS update service within 12 months or renewed.
• Two excellent references.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting for a Year 2 Teacher to work in a First School based in Redditch. This Year 2 Teacher role will involve taking full classroom responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons, and ensuring pupils are supported, motivated, and making good progress with their learning.

The role will involve planning and delivering lessons across the Year 2 curriculum, assessing pupils' progress, marking work, and providing appropriate feedback to support learning and development. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing behaviour effectively, and working closely with parents, carers, and other members of staff to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

This role is full-time, starting in January and continuing until the end of the academic year. ECTs are encouraged to apply, and the school will welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers looking to develop their teaching career.

As a Year 2 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this Year 2 Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be due to achieve QTS.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience teaching within a primary or first school setting.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
• A good understanding of the primary school curriculum and Year 2 learning expectations.
• Strong assessment and marking skills, with the ability to monitor and support pupil progress.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and meeting individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers.
• The confidence to take full responsibility for a class, including planning, preparation, assessment, and reporting.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
• A minimum of two excellent references.
