Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd in Wednesbury is seeking an experienced Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming academy in WS10. The class includes children with a range of emotional, social and learning needs.

Qualifications

• QTS required with induction completed.
• Experience teaching KS1 and Year 2 curriculum.
• Experience supporting SEND and vulnerable learners.
• Trauma-informed, patient and adaptable teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued.
• Use trauma-informed teaching strategies to support vulnerable learners.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and readiness to learn.
• Implement visual timetables, predictable routines and clear transitions.
• Differentiate and scaffold learning for pupils with SEND and additional needs.
• Adapt teaching to meet varying cognitive, social and emotional needs without lowering expectations.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and wider school staff.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive learning experiences.
