Job summary

Academics is supporting a primary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme seeking a Year 2/3 Teacher for a temporary 12-week cover starting after the October half-term.

The successful candidate will hold UK QTS and demonstrate strong planning, delivery, and behaviour management across KS1/KS2. DBS with Update Service or willingness to apply is required. Daily rate depends on experience and client rates.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong knowledge of Upper Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 curricula.
• Ability to plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives.
• Confident working with mixed age/year groups and strong behaviour management skills.
• Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS via Update Service or apply for a new DBS (cost applied).

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Year 2 or Year 3 Teacher?

Looking for a temporary long-term opportunity in a new school after the October half-term break?

Academics are currently supporting a primary school (located in Newcastle-under-Lyme) that is looking for a mixed class Year 2 & Year 3 Teacher to cover initially for 12 weeks.

Our partnership school is well-known for its nurtured and encouraging ethos. They inspire their learners to have a strong sense of belonging and their curriculum is wide-ranging, but balanced. The key part of this school's success is its efficacious relationship with all stakeholders and their interminable support.

To be considered for this particular teaching role you MUST:

• Have UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and excellent knowledge of both the upper Key Stage 1 curriculum and lower Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Be able to hold full class responsibilities and to be able to plan and deliver well-structured and engaging lessons.
• Be confident working with mixed age/year groups.
• Have strong behaviour management skills.
• Promote happiness, self-reliance, and to be able to encourage and motivate positive interactions.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).

Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available.
