Job summary

Teach South in Peacehaven is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive primary school from September. The role supports a Year 1 Teacher and a second TA, assisting a large class and providing targeted 1:1 support.

The ideal candidate will have EYFS/KS1 background, and experience with SEND pupils requiring communication, learning or behaviour support. Full-time, temporary contract with daily rate £85–£95.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, including those needing extra communication, learning, or behavioural support.
• Ability to support learning through class-based activities and individual interventions.
• Nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Support a Year 1 Teacher and another TA in a large cohort, both in class and 1:1 settings.
• Deliver targeted one-to-one support to pupils needing extra help.
• Contribute to an inclusive, friendly classroom environment.
• Assist with routines and safeguarding in a primary school setting.

Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Peacehaven Primary School Full-Time | September Start

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Peacehaven , easily accessible by public transport , is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will work alongside a Year 1 Teacher and another TA, supporting a large cohort of pupils both within the classroom and through targeted 1:1 support.

This role would suit a TA with a strong background in Early Years/Key Stage 1 and ideally experience supporting children with SEND.

The ideal candidate will have:
