Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 child with additional needs in a TS10 area primary school. Morning sessions only, Monday to Friday, starting October 2026, with potential to extend.

You will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualised support, help the child access learning, stay focused in lessons, and contribute to a safe, encouraging classroom environment. Level 3 qualification required.

Responsibilities

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 3 - Part Time Mornings - October 2026
TS10 Area - Competitive Daily Rate (dependent on experience)

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school in the TS10 area.

This is a part-time role, working Monday to Friday mornings only, supporting a Year 3 child with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide individualised support, helping the child to access learning, develop confidence and independence, and enjoy a positive experience at school.

The role will commence in October 2026 and is ongoing, with the potential to become long-term depending on the needs of the school.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is a Level 3 qualification or above in Teaching and Supporting Learning. Previous experience supporting children with additional needs within a primary school setting is desirable.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and enthusiastic teaching team, the desired Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with additional needs during the morning sessions.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support to help the child access classroom learning and activities.
  • Supporting the child with their individual learning needs and targets.
  • Helping the child to remain focused and engaged during lessons.
  • Supporting communication, social development, confidence, and independence.
  • Providing reassurance and encouragement throughout the morning.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping the child to develop appropriate strategies for managing challenges.
  • Adapting activities and resources where appropriate to help the child access learning.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent support.
  • Supporting the child during classroom activities and transitions throughout the morning.

The successful candidate will be patient, caring, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to build a strong and trusting relationship with the child.

Requirements

To be considered for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant position, you will:
