Job summary

Flourish Education in Malvern is seeking a confident Year 1 Teacher to lead the Year 1 class on a full-time basis from November until the end of the academic year. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with a Teaching Assistant in the class to support pupils’ needs.

You should have QTS and prior KS1 experience, with a passion for creating an inclusive, stimulating learning environment where every child can grow in confidence and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience teaching within a Primary School setting.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
• Strong knowledge of KS1 curriculum and transition from EYFS.
• Ability to plan/deliver differentiated lessons for varying abilities.
• Experience assessing pupil progress to inform planning.
• Ability to support pupils with additional needs and promote inclusion.
• Strong classroom management and high behaviour expectations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons for Year 1 pupils.
• Take full responsibility for lesson planning and delivery across the primary curriculum.
• Teach core subjects English, Mathematics, and Science within KS1.
• Differentiate lessons to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
• Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment supporting pupil wellbeing.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback to support development.
• Collaborate with the Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.
• Use assessment information to adapt planning and teaching for gaps in learning.
