Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Year 1 Teacher to inspire young learners at a welcoming primary school in Nelson. This full-time maternity cover role requires delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and supporting pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1.

The successful candidate will have QTS, KS1 experience, and strong classroom management. Start date January 2027 with ongoing professional development and a collaborative school community.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to providing engaging learning experiences and helping pupils make a successful transition into Key Stage 1.

Year 1 Teacher
Location: Nelson
Contract: Full-Time, Maternity cover
Salary: £130 - £160 before AWR is addressed. Then paid in-line with the M-scale of the role.
Start Date: January 2027

The Role

As our Year 1 Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and learning.
• Support pupils in developing strong literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, learning, and achievement.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and school events.
