Service Care is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teacher for a long-term, full-time position in the Burnley/Nelson area. Starting mid-January 2027, the role focuses on delivering engaging KS1 lessons, phonics sessions, and differentiated teaching to support all pupils.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have Year 1 experience, and demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills within a welcoming primary school environment.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a long-term position within a welcoming primary school in the Burnley / Nelson area. Starting mid-January 2027, this is an excellent opportunity for an established teacher looking for their next long-term teaching role within a supportive school environment. The successful candidate must have previous Year 1 teaching experience and a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will be confident in delivering engaging, creative and differentiated lessons, managing classroom behaviour effectively and ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum.
• Deliver effective phonics teaching and support early reading development.
• Teach core subjects, including English and Mathematics.
• Monitor, assess and track pupil progress.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other school staff.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching Year 1.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Experience delivering phonics and early reading sessions.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
