Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher for a full-time post in Droylsden, starting in January. You will support the transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1 and create an engaging, safe classroom environment for pupils.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, have Year 1/KS1 experience, and deliver creative lessons across phonics, early reading, writing and maths with strong behaviour management to nurture progress.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and be eligible to teach in England.
• Experience teaching Year 1 or KS1 is required.
• Deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned to the KS1 curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of phonics, early reading, writing and maths.
• Positive behaviour management and pupil progression focus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach Year 1 lessons to meet KS1 objectives.
• Create a supportive classroom environment to aid transition from EYFS.
• Assess and track pupil progress and adapt instruction accordingly.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching in Year 1 or across KS1.
• Deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Have a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum, including phonics, early reading, writing and maths.
• Create a positive classroom environment with effective behaviour management strategies.
