Milk Education is recruiting a Year 1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a Year 1 pupil at a primary school in Leigh, starting September 2026. This is a long-term temporary role.

You'll support learning, deliver catch-up sessions, assist lesson planning, and promote an inclusive classroom where every child belongs, with continued support from Milk Education throughout the placement.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar - or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Support a Year 1 pupil one-to-one, responding to their individual needs.
• Help deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.

We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Leigh, WN7 to work one-to-one with a Year 1 child. This role is on a long-term basis starting in September and is a temporary role.

You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school focused on helping children love life and love learning. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting a Year 1 pupil one-to-one, responding to their individual needs

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting

• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
