Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Year 3 SEND Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Hindley Green, to support a pupil one-to-one from September 2026. This long-term temporary role offers flexible days and a supportive learning community.

You will assist with literacy and numeracy catch-up sessions, help plan lessons, and work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources for inclusion and success.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a school or educational setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar.
• Able to take direction from the class teacher and work in a team.

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Hindley Green, WN2, to work one-to-one with a Year 3 child. This role is on a long-term basis starting in September and is a temporary role.

You'll be joining a vibrant and caring school, focused on supporting children to be respectful and kind. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting a Year 3 pupil one-to-one, responding to their individual needs
• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
• Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
