Job summary

GSL Education in Newham is seeking a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class in a busy primary school.

The role is full-time and long-term from September 2026, working 8:00–15:30. You will provide 1:1 SEN support, assist with planning, and adapt to an active class. A valid DBS on the update service, references, and right-to-work documentation are required, with immediate interview and start possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working in Year 1 in a primary setting.
• Recent primary school based experience.
• Able to support with SEN on a 1:1 basis.
• Physically demanding role as a child is very active.
• Planning is required as part of the long term role.
• Commitment to a full-time, long-term role.
• A valid DBS registered on the update service.
• 2-3 professional references covering a minimum of 2-3 years of employment history.
• Must be available for an immediate interview and start date.
• Proof of right to work in the UK
• Proof of national insurance
• Proof of address (dated within the last three months)
• Qualification documents

Responsibilities

• Support Year 1 SEN pupil on a 1:1 basis.

• Hours - 8- 3:30 pm

• Daily rate : £95-£110
