Job summary

Teach Plus in Hounslow is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting ASAP to support a Year 1 class. You will assist the class teacher with lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and cover classes when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience covering classes in the teacher's absence.
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the Year 1 class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom management, and daily learning activities.
• Deliver targeted interventions to small groups of pupils to support progress in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
• Cover classes in the teacher's absence, ensuring continuity of learning and effective classroom management.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils, including those requiring additional support.
• Promote positive behaviour, pupil engagement, and an inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with teachers and other staff.
