Job summary

Haldane Fisher Limited in Newry is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee the yard team, ensuring safe, efficient loading, picking, and customer service. You will lead from the front, set the standard, and bring out the best in your crew, helping customers build with confidence.

The role requires enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn, with Monday to Friday 40.25 hours and Saturdays on rota; a focus on safety, housekeeping, and delivering high service levels across timber and building

• Load/unload vehicles safely and efficiently; train operatives.

Yard Supervisor- Newry

We're looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our Newry team. In this role you'll supervise the yard team day-to-day, delivering safe, efficient loading, picking, and customer service. You'll lead from the front, set the standard, and bring the best out of your team.

Most of all, it's a role where what you do really matters, every day you'll help our customers build with confidence.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills that will support a successful long‑term career with Haldane Fisher.

What you'll be doing

• Allocate and supervise daily operations within the yard.
• Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, stock condition and ensuring high standards of housekeeping.
• Daily management and enforcement of health & safety, yard safety and working-at-height controls.
• Promoting high levels of customer service, serving customers politely and professionally.
• Coordinating and assisting with deliveries, customer collections, and daily operational duties.
• Ensure accurate, timely loading and picking.
• Loading and unloading customer and company vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Support and train operatives.

Essential

• Yard supervisory experience.
• FLT competence.
• Safety and people skills.
• Able to meet the health & safety, legislative and competency prerequisites for the role, including any required licences, tickets, training, and Opus SMS responsibilities.
