Job summary

Haldane Fisher Limited in Newry is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee the yard team, ensuring safe, efficient loading, picking, and customer service. You will lead from the front, set the standard, and bring out the best in your crew, helping customers build with confidence.

The role requires enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn, with Monday to Friday 40.25 hours and Saturdays on rota; a focus on safety, housekeeping, and delivering high service levels across timber and building

Qualifications

• Yard supervisory experience.
• FLT competence and safety awareness.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Ability to meet safety, legislative and competency prerequisites.
• Values-led with safety-first, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and supervise daily operations within the yard.
• Monitor stock levels, ensure housekeeping standards.
• Enforce health & safety, yard safety and working-at-height controls.
• Promote high levels of customer service and professionalism.
• Coordinate deliveries and customer collections; ensure accurate loading.
• Load/unload vehicles safely and efficiently; train operatives.
