Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a proactive yard assistant for a UK recycling operation. The role requires an in-date FLT Counterbalance licence and a hands-on approach to loading, unloading and machine support.

You will follow SOPs, perform safety inspections, keep the yard tidy, and contribute to continuous improvement while working across day and night shifts. The company supports development and a strong health & safety culture.

Qualifications

• In-date Counterbalance forklift licence required.
• Hands-on approach to loading/unloading and machine support.
• Willingness to work across day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate production and recycling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow SOPs, site procedures, and health & safety guidelines.
• Carry out pre-start visual safety inspections on machinery and equipment.
• Keep the yard clean and tidy and move assets around the site.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the shift.
• Use a forklift and check it is safe to use.
