People Solutions are recruiting for an FLT Yard Operative to join our client site in Stoke-on-Trent. This temp-to-perm role offers ongoing work and development opportunities. A valid FLT licence is essential, with shift pattern Monday to Friday, 14:00-00:00, and a friendly, supportive team surrounding the role.

FLT Yard Operative - Stoke-on-Trent

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an FLT Yard Operative to join our well-known client based in Stoke-on-Trent.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an FLT Driver, Counterbalance Driver, Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative or Recycling Operative.

Rates of Pay:

• £13.50 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 14:00 - 00:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an FLT Yard Operative are:

• Complying with all company Health & Safety policies, procedures and regulations at all times
• Reporting accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses promptly
• Working within the baler picking area and removing contamination to ensure bales meet quality standards
• Monitoring the baler during operation and taking appropriate action to prevent blockages
• Working within the shredding room, sorting confidential paper and removing contamination from materials being processed
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping across the yard
• Cleaning underneath and around the baler daily to ensure a safe and tidy working environment
• Keeping the shredding room organised, clean and operational at the end of each shift
• Operating a forklift truck safely and efficiently to support site operations
• Supporting the wider yard team with operational duties as required
• Following instructions from supervisors and managers to complete work safely and efficiently

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an FLT Yard Operative, you will need:

• A valid FLT licence
• A reliable and hardworking approach to work
• The ability to work in a busy, hands-on yard environment
• Good attention to detail, particularly when identifying contamination
• A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• The ability to maintain a clean and organised working environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• The ability to work independently when required
• A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider operation

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience operating baling or shredding equipment
• Experience working within a recycling, waste management or industrial environment
• Previous yard or warehouse experience
