Job summary

Veolia in Hinckley is recruiting a yard operative to load and unload vehicles and keep the yard tidy and safe. You will operate a 360 excavator and follow health and safety protocols to protect people and property.

The role is 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary of £35,100 per annum plus Veolia benefits and pension. Previous yard work and relevant licenses are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 360 Excavator Licence (tracked and wheeled) required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload vehicles with 360 grab; handle materials safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas.
• Remove debris, litter and waste from the premises.
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, tidying and minor repairs.
• Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly maintained.
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management.

What you’ll be doing;

• Loading and unloading vehicles with 360 grab: Handle materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are safely loaded and unloaded from vehicles and stored in designated areas
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and surrounding areas
• Remove debris, litter, and waste from the premises
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, tidying, and minor repairs
• Ensure all equipment and cleaning supplies are properly maintained
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times

What we’re looking for;

Essential:

• 360 Excavator License (Both tracked and wheeled) to operate re-handling grab
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour

Desirable:

• Previous experience in yard maintenance
• Class 2 (Cat C) licence would be advantageous
• Up to date CPC / Digi card would be advantageous
