Job summary

Veolia is hiring a 3.5T Driver/Operative at Ross Depot in Folkestone, Kent. The role runs 42.5 hours per week from 06:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. Salary is £14.47 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training.

You will perform street sweeping, ensure gullies are clear, empty litter bins, and drive Veolia vehicles after receiving the necessary training. Basic health and safety, teamwork, and a Category B licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: Basic understanding of Health & Safety.
• Essential: Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Essential: Category B licence.
• Essential: Previous 3.5 Tonne driving experience.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
• Desirable: Waste experience.

Responsibilities

• Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture).
• Ensure all gullies are clear of obstructions and sweepings are not swept over or pushed down gully grids.
• Empty litter bins and replace liners; collect sweeper bags.
• Report graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins to line Manager.
• Check vehicle condition and road worthiness; complete forms.
• Drive and operate Veolia-provided vehicles after training.

What you'll be doing;

• Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc)
• Ensure that all Gully Grids are clear of any obstruction and that sweepings arising are not swept over or pushed down gully grids.
• Empty litter bins found within your beat, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, and collect sweeper bags
• Report locations of any graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins and waste containers to your line Manager
• Check your vehicle for condition and road worthiness and complete the appropriate forms
• Drive and operate any vehicle supplied by Veolia, having first received the relevant training

What we're looking for;
