Job summary

Veolia in Bromley is seeking a skilled vehicle technician to repair and maintain Veolia fleet and third-party vehicles to factory and industry standards.

You will perform diagnostics, conduct hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic repairs, and ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed. The role includes completing paperwork and coordinating workload for technicians across depots.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, or HGV NVQ level 3 vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle a wide range of tasks.
• MOT regulations knowledge and compliance.
• Forklift counterbalance licence held.
• HGV licence held and active.
• Plant/RCV experience and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Veolia fleet and third party vehicles to standards.
• Perform vehicle diagnostics using specialised equipment and conduct hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic repairs.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and safety standards.
• Complete paperwork, timesheets and operational update sheets accurately.
• Conduct MOT inspections, preparations and emergency roadside repairs.
• Coordinate work and act as first point of contact for technicians.

Salary: Up to £47,673.60per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

What you'll be doing;

• Repair and maintain Veolia fleet and 3rd party vehicles/plant to factory and industry standards.
• Perform vehicle diagnostics using specialized equipment and conduct hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic repairs.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and maintain workplace safety standards.
• Complete all required paperwork, timesheets, and operational update sheets accurately and timely.
• Conduct HGV MOT inspections, preparations, and emergency roadside repairs.
• Serve as first point of contact for technicians and coordinate work allocation effectively.
• Manage contractor communications, tire services, and perform 4-point MOT checks.
• Conduct weekly workshop inspections and manage job card processes.
• Ensure proper shift handovers and maintain technician productivity above 80%.
• Coordinate holiday schedules, training allocation, and wash operative coverage across all depots.

• The ability to work under pressure, actively seek solutions to problems and having the flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks are all key attributes.
