Job summary

Veolia is seeking a 3.5T Driver/Operative for our Ross Depot in Folkestone. You will drive Veolia vehicles, perform street cleaning tasks, and ensure waste management duties are carried out safely and efficiently.

Current role requires a Category B licence and prior 3.5 Tonne driving experience. The position offers a 42.5-hour week, early start times, and comprehensive benefits including pension and health support.

Qualifications

• Category B driving licence is essential.
• Previous 3.5 Tonne driving experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep streets and areas manually as directed.
• Ensure gully grids are clear of obstructions and sweepings are managed.
• Empty litter bins and replace liners, collect sweeper bags.
• Report graffiti, fly posting, or damaged bins to your line Manager.
• Check vehicle condition and road worthiness; complete the forms.
• Drive and operate Veolia vehicles after training.

What you'll be doing;

• Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc)
• Ensure that all Gully Grids are clear of any obstruction and that sweepings arising are not swept over or pushed down gully grids.
• Empty litter bins found within your beat, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, and collect sweeper bags
• Report locations of any graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins and waste containers to your line Manager
• Check your vehicle for condition and road worthiness and complete the appropriate forms
• Drive and operate any vehicle supplied by Veolia, having first received the relevant training

What we're looking for;

Essential:

• Basic understanding of Health & Safety

• Previous 3.5 Tonne driving experience

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
• Waste experience
