Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is looking for a reliable Yard Operative to join our busy yard in Cardiff. You will be hands-on, pick orders, load/unload materials and keep stock organised so daily operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities include checking stock, preparing materials, and assisting with yard duties while following health and safety procedures at all times. The role requires physical work outdoors and strong teamwork in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard, warehouse or labouring is advantageous
• Able to perform physical/manual handling duties
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good awareness of health and safety
• Reliable, punctual and a team player

• Picking order components accurately from order sheets
• Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently
• Organising and storing stock in the correct yard locations
• Checking incoming and returned materials for damage or missing items
• Cleaning, sorting and preparing materials for use
• Assisting with stock checks and keeping basic records up to date
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and safe at all times
• Supporting drivers and the wider team with daily yard duties
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Previous yard, warehouse or labouring experience would be an advantage
• Able to work in a physically demanding role and carry out manual handling duties
• Willing to work outdoors in all conditions
• Good awareness of health and safety
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
