This would suit applicants who have worked as a Machine Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, Recycling Operative or Assembly Operative.
Rates of Pay:
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 17:00
- Alternate Saturdays: 07:00 - 12:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
Your duties as a Yard / Metal Cutting Operative are:
- Using oxy-propane cutting equipment to cut metals and large metal objects to size for safe reprocessing and recycling
- Identifying, recording and processing non-compliant waste in line with company procedures
- Ensuring materials are free from contamination before loading
- Assisting with stock control and reporting any material build-up to the Site Manager and Supervisor
- Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses promptly and accurately
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the site
- Assisting with the picking and segregation of waste materials into individual streams
- Supporting the maintenance of equipment and yard facilities
- Following company policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment
- Working effectively as part of a busy yard team
Essential Skills:
To be successful as a Yard / Metal Cutting Operative, you will need:
- Experience using oxy-propane cutting equipment
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- The ability to carry out physically demanding duties
- The ability to safely operate hand tools and equipment
- A reliable and positive approach to work
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- Good attention to detail
Desirable Experience:
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
- Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Previous experience within a recycling, waste management or metal processing environment
Training:
- Industry-related training provided
- Ongoing support throughout your assignment
