Pertemps Reading is recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy manufacturing team near Aldermaston. This full-time, hands-on role handles welding materials, sheet metal and structural components, with training provided and no prior welding experience required.

Hours are 07:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, with voluntary Saturday overtime, and pay is £13.21 per hour. You will prepare metals, grind surfaces and support yard and workshop duties, using hand and power tools in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Previous yard, workshop, manufacturing or construction experience is desirable.
• Welding or fabrication experience is an advantage, but full training is provided.
• Must be physically fit, as the role involves manual handling and working with metal materials.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Own transport is desirable due to the location and accessibility of the site.
