Job summary

Elm CofE Primary School is seeking a dedicated Wraparound Care Assistant to join our Afterschool Club. You will provide high-quality support in a warm, inclusive setting at Elm CofE Primary School.

This part-time, permanent role offers 15 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, with a pro-rata salary of about £8,613. GCSEs in Maths and English are required, along with strong organisational and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
  • Experience in preparing and serving healthy snacks.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues, parents and community.

Responsibilities

  • Plan activities appropriate to the age and needs of the pupils, considering different areas of learning.
  • Ensure the room is set up to receive pupils in a purposeful environment.
  • Organise refreshments and ensure pupil's individual needs are met.
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and engage all pupils in activities.
  • Support pupils in their play while maintaining safety and following school policy.

Key responsibilities:
  • Plan activities appropriate to the age and the needs of the pupils taking into account different areas of learning
  • Ensure the room is set up to receive pupils into a purposeful environment
  • Organise refreshments, serving healthy foods and ensure pupil's individual needs are met
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with each other and engage all pupils in activities
  • Be able to support pupils in their play, while maintaining their safety and following the school's behaviour policy
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • £24,796 FTE
  • Pro-rata salary: approx. £8,613
  • 15 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
  • Permanent
Qualifications and skills:
  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
  • Experience in preparing and serving healthy snacks
  • Strong organisational, personal time management and panning skills
  • High levels of collaboration, cooperation and team working capabilities
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
