Job summary

U-Drive in Bristol is seeking a Workshop Vehicle Technician to maintain a fleet of LCVs and some cars. You will work from our Bristol workshop with a 42-hour week, liaising with the Operations team and ensuring high standards of service.

You should have a minimum Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance, preferably Level 3, and at least 2 years as a mechanic with strong LCV experience. Valid UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• At least a Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required.
• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical, Maintenance, and Repair is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Liaise closely with the Operations team in coordinating and prioritising works.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on both customer and U-Drive vehicles, primarily LCVs with some cars.
• Conduct test drives, inspections, and diagnostic tests to identify and address vehicle issues.
• Execute preventive maintenance inspections, guaranteeing safety and roadworthiness.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Service and maintain all vehicles to the highest standard.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Maintain accurate records for works completed and parts used.

• Demonstrable technical, electrical, and diagnostic expertise.
• Experience with tablet-based job recording and clear written communication on tablet-based jobs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
