Octane Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Stourbridge, West Midlands, for a leading vehicle rental group. Roles require Level 3 or Level 2 with 3 years’ experience, covering a wide vehicle range. Permanent full-time, Monday–Friday with a Saturday rota and overtime. Competitive pay up to £36,000 with bonus and benefits, plus long-term training and career development.

Qualifications

• Qualified vehicle technician with Level 3 or Level 2 with 3 years' experience.
• Experience in dealership or workshop environment.
• Own tools for daily duties.
• Right to work in the UK and a valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repair work on customer vehicles to manufacturer and franchise standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment and workshop processes to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Replace parts, lubricants, and consumables as required, ensuring all work is completed correctly first time.
• Complete accurate service records, job cards, and repair documentation in line with company procedures.
• Carry out electronic vehicle health checks and highlight any additional maintenance or safety work required.
• Work professionally with Service Advisors, workshop control, and colleagues to support customer satisfaction and workshop efficiency.

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years' experience, for the UK's leading vehicle rental specialists, working on a wide range of vehicles. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: Up to £36,000 basic per annum, with bonus and overtime opportunities; realistic OTE up to £45,000 depending on site and experience

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday, with Saturday rota and approved overtime where required

Skills and experience

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, NVQ/City & Guilds, or equivalent; Level 2 qualified Technicians with strong dealership or workshop experience may also be considered
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, or similar workshop role
• Own tools suitable for day-to-day workshop duties
