Job description

Workshop Technician - 30,158 per year
Location: Birmingham Full-Time Permanent

We're looking for a hands-on and reliable Workshop Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll make sure the fleet of tools and equipment is clean, safe, and ready for hire. If you enjoy working with your hands, love tools, and take pride in getting things done properly - we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Clean and test all returned equipment
  • Inspect returned items for damage or cleaning needs
  • Carry out approved repairs and record time, costs, and parts used
  • Provide repair estimates within 5 working days
  • Work with the Workshop Manager to review and approve repair work
  • Order parts as needed for approved repairs
  • Keep the workshop stocked with safety stickers and operating guides
  • Tag, barcode, and fleet equipment before it leaves the workshop
  • Log all completed checks on the system
  • Make sure fuels, gases, and chemicals are locked away daily
  • Help other areas of the operation when needed
  • Follow all health & safety and company procedures
  • Communicate clearly with other departments

What we're looking for:

  • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, lifting, hydraulic, or power access tools (advantageous)
  • Someone organised, with great attention to detail
  • Friendly, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
  • A logical thinker who enjoys solving problems
  • Someone who can multitask and prioritise
  • A mature, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude
  • An interest in delivering great customer service

Salary: 30,158 per year
