Job summary

Stagecoach Eastbourne Depot is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team of Engineers, Technicians and Cleaners across a 60+ vehicle fleet. Based at Eastbourne, you’ll ensure vehicles are clean, safe and road-ready, while coordinating maintenance schedules and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering experience across mechanical, electrical and bodywork.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/automotive field.
• Experience leading a workshop or technical team; understands PCV operations.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and regulatory awareness.
• People-centered leadership with clear communication.
• Able to plan, analyse, and make decisions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to deliver safe, reliable, and well-presented vehicles.
• Schedule and prioritise vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Support team development and training needs.
• Quality check vehicles after maintenance to ensure standards.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental standards per legislation and policy.
