Listers Group Ltd in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead a busy VW workshop and Battery Competency Centre. Hours are 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, with one in three Saturdays 08:00–12:30. Basic salary up to £45,000 with OTE up to £48,000 plus benefits.

You will manage technicians, uphold brand standards, health and safety, and drive customer satisfaction within a busy dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a dealership setting preferred, e.g. Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman or Experienced Workshop Controller.
• Confident, resilient, energetic and motivated to progress within Aftersales.
• Professional presentation and collaborative approach with Aftersales Manager, Assistant Service Manager and Parts Manager.

• Manage workflow of all jobs to brand standard with effective workshop loading.
• Lead a team of Technicians to ensure efficient and quality output.
• Provide support to service department to ensure excellent customer experience.
• Ensure processes adhere to standards and drive KPI targets.
• Conduct regular reviews with Aftersales Manager to address issues and drive actions.
• Plan and manage workshop resources to meet workload.
• Oversee handover of complex or high-value jobs and ensure customer agreement.
• Maintain equipment, calibrations and stock checks as required.
• Support service department with complex job specifications and approval with customers.

Job Introduction

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Manager to join our Volkswagen Dealership in Stratford-upon-Avon. Hours of work are 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Fridays and one in 3 Saturdays 8:00 - 12:30. Basic Salary up to £45,000 with OTE up to £48,000 plus benefits. The Workshop Manager will focus on managing a busy workshop, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Commercial Vehicles, and a large internal retail and fleet operation. This role also involves liaising with a second workshop including a Battery Competency Centre. Responsibility for all aspects of back of house work including, but not limited to, overseeing equipment calibrations, health and safety, technician reviews, workshop meetings, and Annual Franchise Audit preparation.

What we're looking for

This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked within a dealership as either a Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman or Experienced Workshop Controller and are looking to Listers for more opportunities to progress. A well-presented individual with a desire, character and attitude to succeed to work alongside the Aftersales Manager, Assistant Service Manager and Parts Manager to drive the Aftersales Department forward.

Description

• Managing the workflow of all jobs to brand standard with effective workshop loading.
• Manage a team of Technicians ensuring workflow through the workshop is done in an efficient and effective manner.
• Provide focused assistance to the service department team, to ensure an excellent customer experience.
• Ensure processes are always adhered to.
• Conduct regular process and Technician reviews with your Aftersales Manager to identify operational issues / discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken to rectify.
• Manage the performance of the workshop to ensure that KPI targets are achieved.
• Manage and plan workshop/support resources to ensure that work requirements are fulfilled.
• Support the department team as required and ensure that all work is completed on time.
• Support the service department with specifications and coding of non-standard, complex jobs and ensure all such work is approved with customers prior to any work being started.
• Manage the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs (invoices, claims) to ensure full buy-in and agreement from the customer (Retail or Internal).
• Ensure workshop equipment, calibrations and consumable stock checks are conducted when required.
• Manage an effective quality control process to drive customer trust and satisfaction.
