Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service in Gateshead is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead the transport and equipment workshops and a team of technicians, ensuring efficient planning and delivery of all scheduled and unscheduled work.
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the post holder will champion TWFRS values, drive continuous improvement, and ensure health and safety compliance while supporting service delivery and cross‑department collaboration.
£46,142 - £49,282 per annum, plus an On-Call Allowance of £7,750) + benefits (pay award pending)

We are seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy for the role of Workshop Manager.
Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services you will be responsible for the efficient management of the transport workshop, the operational equipment workshop and a team of technicians, while working closely with other departments.
This role provides guidance and support for all inspection and maintenance activities carried out on fire appliances, vehicle fleet, marine assets, operational equipment and ancillary equipment. A key aspect of the role is the efficient planning and progression of scheduled work whilst maintaining an effective response to un-scheduled work to support service delivery.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the TWFRS Values of Safety, Integrity, Inclusivity and Learning, and champion these in their day‑to‑day work. They will also demonstrate and the highest standards of ethical behaviours and champion these in their day-to-day work in compliance with our ethical code of conduct.
