Workshop Technician at Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Technical Services – Operational Support, based in Hertford. This is an exciting opportunity to Join Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s - Technical Services – Operational Support department.
Operational Support is a key area of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue’s Technical Services department. They hold the responsibility for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of firefighting and rescue equipment alongside breathing apparatus and ancillary equipment to enable front line crews to provide an effective operational response.

This is a fast paced and often reactive environment, dependant on operational incidents, therefore you’ll need to be able to work under pressure, be able to work as part of a team and be extremely well organised, taking a pro‑active approach to your workload.
Full training will be provided on our specialist equipment and systems; however, we are looking for candidates who already have a good understanding of workshop environments and practical repair work. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe working practices are essential.
(Training and development opportunities will be provided for candidates who do not currently hold these competencies).
