Job summary

Coretrax Cementing Technologies in Aberdeen is seeking a hands-on Workshop/Maintenance Technician 1 to maintain, repair and prepare equipment that supports field operations. You will join a friendly, fast-moving team with on-the-job training and a defined competency program to support your development.

Training will cover safety standards, rigging, and equipment build-up, with opportunities to gain forklift and driving competencies; overtime and occasional overseas travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • A trade/technical qualification or a mechanical background.
  • Experience with Hydrostatic pressure testing, Torque machines, Combi lift, Workshop cranes.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence for local delivery & collections (up to 3.5 tonne vehicles).
  • A forklift licence (3–15 T) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Teams); SAP or ETM experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to work both planned & short notice overtime, take part in an on-call rota (about once per month), and very occasional overseas travel.

You will receive product specific training & work within an established competency program designed to support your development and progression in the role.

Key Activities and Accountabilities
  • Maintain & repair equipment
    You will carry out routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and support repairs—ensuring everything meets our safety and quality standards.
  • Get involved with the equipment build‑up
    Assist with rigging up, assembling, and rigging down equipment used across our operations.
  • Operate workshop machinery
    If you have forklift experience (3–15 tonne), great—if not, training can be provided.
  • Complete inspections & paperwork
    You’ll check equipment, complete simple documentation, and make sure everything is up to date and compliant.
  • Work closely with other departments
    You’ll regularly liaise with logistics, stores, and supervisors to keep jobs moving smoothly.
  • Be part of daily team huddles
    Join short morning meetings to discuss safety, priorities, and upcoming operational activity.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications

You don’t need to have oil & gas experience, we value practical, hands‑on skills from any industry.
