Job summary

Brewers Decorator Centres is seeking a proactive Workshop Maintenance Operative in Eastbourne to join our Premises team at Albany House. The role focuses on stock control, shopfitting materials, and equipment distribution across our 280+ branches nationwide.

You will carry out repairs, refurbishments, and installations, maintain safe storage, and support loading/unloading. A strong practical background with experience in shopfitting or upkeep is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience using power and hand tools for shopfitting and storage shelving alterations.
• Experience working in a retail branch during trading hours.
• Excellent organisational skills to plan and manage workload accurately.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to take initiative and solve problems daily.
• Confident communicator at all levels.
• Full and clean driving licence.
• MEWP registration and forklift licence are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Keep storage areas clean and tidy.
• Assist in loading/unloading of company vehicles and materials.
• Ensure equipment dispatched to branches is in good repair and appearance.
• Order shopfitting components and monitor stock levels.
• Check and issue materials moving into/out of stock.
• Unload/load vehicles safely within legal limits.
• Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
