Meridian Business Support Ltd is recruiting for a Workshop Labourer Forklift and Delivery Driver in Tewkesbury. Permanent role with a 39-hour week, day shifts, some overtime, and a starting hourly rate around £14.75–£15.00.

You will operate a forklift, load and unload, deliver products by company van, maintain workshop cleanliness, and assist with basic building tasks. A valid UK driving licence is essential; forklift training can be provided.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence is essential.
• Forklift certificate or forklift driving experience preferred; training available.
• Experience in engineering environment preferable.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading and moving stock with forklift truck.
• Delivering products to customers using company van.
• Topping up, draining and replacing machine fluids.

The job - Workshop Labourer and Delivery Driver

Working on the premises of a well-established engineering business, your hard work, friendly and conscientious attitude will ensure the business is always running smoothly. Jobs don’t come up often with this company. Your duties will include amongst other things:

• topping up, draining and replacing machine fluids;
• removingswarf(metal chips or filings) from machinery;
• tidying workshop floor, washing floors and cleaning spills (not cleaning the toilet facilities);
• Loading and unloading and moving stock with forklift truck;
• cleaning and packing components;
• delivering products to customers using company van;
• some basic general buildings maintenance tasks as and when needed (painting, replacing light bulbs, general upkeep and basichandyperson-type jobs);
• somedeburringof machined components as and when needed and
• any associated duties as required.

Your job will see you working on an engineering factory site, working with and around engineers operating specialist machinery. This is a busy and varied role for someone who takes a pride in their work and for someone who has a keen interest in making sure that the facility is kept well stocked, clean, tidy and organised to make sure the business can continue to operate in a safe and effective manner.

Experience of working in a similar engineering environment would be preferable, a driving licence is essential for this job. Forklift truck driving experience would be great, but you can be trained if you haven't done this before.
