Job summary

Interaction Technical, partnering with a leading materials handling business in Milton Keynes, is seeking a Workshop Engineer to service, diagnose, and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment in a busy depot workshop.

You will work with an experienced team, focusing on high-quality maintenance and repairs, while progressing through manufacturer training and development opportunities within a modern workshop.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Good hydraulic and electrical knowledge.
• Experience on engines and mobile machinery.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to develop.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults.
• Carry out planned maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete major repairs and component replacements.
• Prepare equipment for customer delivery.
• Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs).
• Accurately complete workshop documentation and service reports.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
• Work collaboratively within the engineering team.

The Role

As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment within a busy depot workshop.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will ensure machines are maintained, repaired and prepared to the highest standards before being returned to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults
• Carry out planned maintenance and safety inspections
• Complete major repairs and component replacements
