Kautec Recruitment Ltd has partnered with a prestige fleet solutions provider to recruit a Workshop HGV Engineer in Greater London. The role is a permanent day shift with a basic salary up to £46,500 plus overtime, in a busy, supportive workshop environment.

You will inspect a diverse fleet, including HGVs, trailers, and light commercials, performing maintenance, MOT preparation, and DVSA-compliant servicing while opportunities for upskilling are provided.

Formación

• Qualified and time served HGV technician.
• Experience with DVSA standards recommended.
• IRTEC or HGV Class 1 licence desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Routine and preventative maintenance on HGV and commercial fleets.
• MOT preparation and DVSA-compliant servicing.
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections and running defect corrections.
• Chassis and fabrication work and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.
• Improve vehicle standards and reliability.
• Liaise with workshop teams to ensure first-class service.

We are looking for a qualified and time served HGV Technician who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics. You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first class service. You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet. You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV#s) refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers-The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Correction of running defects
• Chassis and fabrication work
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Improvement of vehicle standards
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.Additional accreditations such as IRTEC would be desirable, as would a HGV Class 1 or licence.
