Job summary

KAUTEC RECRUITMENT Ltd is seeking a Workshop HGV Engineer to join a prestigious client in the UK. The role covers routine and preventative maintenance across a varied fleet, including main dealer HGVs, refuse vehicles, and trailers.

You will perform MOT preparation, servicing to DVSA standards, and highway-safe diagnostics. The ideal candidate is fully qualified (City & Guilds or NVQ) with relevant HGV experience; IRTEC and HGV1 licence are desirable.

Qualifications

• Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds) or NVQ.
• IRTEC or HGV Class 1 licence would be desirable.
• Experience with routine maintenance and MOT preparation.

Responsibilities

• Routine and preventative maintenance on HGV fleets.
• MOT preparation.
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections.
• Correction of running defects.
• Chassis and fabrication work.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics checks and adjustments.
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Workshop HGV Engineer

Permanent day shifts - Basic salary up to £46,500 plus overtime

We are looking for a qualified and time served HGV Technician who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.

You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first class service.

You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV#s) refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers-

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC would be desirable, as would a HGV Class 1 or licence.
