Job summary

Platinum-Recruitment is seeking an experienced Workshop Forklift Engineer for the Horsham area. You will service, repair and maintain forklift trucks, diagnosing faults and performing planned maintenance in a busy workshop.

The role offers unlimited overtime paid at 1.5x, a target OTE of £60,000–£70,000, and ongoing manufacturer and technical training with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience with hydraulics, electrics, and diesel systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or Vehicle Repair beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Conducting safety inspections and compliance checks.
• Repairing electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts.
• Completing breakdown repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Working on a variety of warehouse and industrial handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
