Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy in Banbury is seeking an experienced Workshop Forklift Engineer to join a busy engineering operation. Excellent earning potential through unlimited overtime and a realistic OTE of £60,000–£70,000, with a competitive basic starting from £35,000.

You will service, repair and maintain forklift trucks, diagnose faults, and perform safety checks in a modern workshop environment. Overtime is paid at 1.5x with ongoing training and clear progression prospects.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience with hydraulics, electrics, and diesel systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or Vehicle Repair beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Conducting safety inspections and compliance checks.
• Repairing electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts.
• Completing breakdown repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Working on a variety of warehouse and industrial handling equipment.
