Job summary

Monnoyeur is recruiting a Workshop Engineer to be based at our Equipment Preparation Centre in Corby. You will carry out routine maintenance and repairs to short/long term hire machines and customer equipment, and prepare equipment for service to customers, sales and distributors, always upholding quality and professionalism.

You will inspect incoming trucks, ensure valid LOLER inspections, and coordinate with the Workshop Manager on faults and repair planning.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of industrial equipment desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks on arrival and perform repairs as agreed with Workshop Manager.
• Ensure all completed trucks pass inspection and LOLER checks.
• Identify and report faults on end-of-hire equipment and estimate repair times.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections on new equipment to established standards.
• Prepare and maintain demo fleet equipment and manage battery levels for electric stock.
• Keep work area clean and safe, adhering to ISO standards.

Job Description Summary

We are actively recruiting a Workshop Engineer to be based at our Equipment Preparation Centre in Corby, you will carry out routine maintenance and repairs to our short/long term hire machines and customer owned equipment. You will carry out the preparation of new, used and demonstration equipment to service our customer, sales and distributor base. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times.

CORE ACTIVITIES

• Inspect trucks coming into the depot and in conjunction with the Workshop Manager carry out all agreed repairs.
• To ensure that all completed trucks are correctly inspected prior to leaving the depot and that there is a valid LOLER Inspection.
• To identify any damage on trucks coming off hire advising the Workshop Manager promptly.
• To inspect trucks coming off hire that are not due to go back into service advising the Workshop Manager of any faults on the machine and an approximate time it would take to rectify.
• Completion of pre-delivery inspection on all new equipment to pre set standards prior to despatch to customer or dealer.
• Maintain and prepare demo fleet equipment as necessary for customer/dealer requirements.
• Maintain charge levels of traction batteries for the stock of electric powered equipment.
• Unloading of trucks, equipment, batteries, chargers etc that relate to the department.
• Inspection of above equipment upon arrival and to produce a ‘goods received note’.
• To keep non-utilised/recoverable time to a minimum by liaising closely with the Workshop Manager, and planning workload.
• Submit detailed parts requisitions, providing all information required for the computer job records and ensuring the correct parts are ordered accurately and on a timely basis.
• To work mostly without supervision by using own initiative, and to maintain Impact Handling standards of quality at all times.
• To ensure that any defective tooling or equipment is brought to the immediate attention of the Workshop Manager.
• Project a good image of yourself and Impact Handling to the customer at all times, always wearing your supplied company uniform.
• Ensure that all documentation (including completed job sheets, time sheets, etc.) are fully completed as instructed and adhere to ISO9001:2000 procedure.
• Keep work area clean, tidy and organised in accordance with ISO14001 standards.
• Ensure that all documentation is passed to the service department promptly.
• Always work safely in accordance with the Impact Handling Safe Working Practice and Health & Safety standards.
• Attendance at Internal/External training courses at other locations to meet with Business and Heath & Safety requirements.
• To perform any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time within the scope of your knowledge, skills and ability.
