Monnoyeur is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to join Aprolis UK in Corby, leading the workshop team to ensure safe, efficient operations and high-quality outcomes for customers. You will balance hands-on oversight with supervisory duties, driving productivity, compliance and service delivery.

Role requires proven workshop leadership, strong communication, and the ability to coach apprentices. A focus on planning, KPI tracking and collaboration with parts and other departments is essential.

  • Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or senior engineer role.

  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and workshop management systems.
  • Good understanding of engineer productivity, utilisation and efficiency targets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the workshop.
  • Allocate and monitor workloads to maximise engineer productivity and ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Carry out final quality inspections where authorised.
  • Monitor workshop performance and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure timely parts availability.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, suppliers and customers.
  • Support induction, training and performance reviews.

The Assistant Workshop Manager supports the Preparation Manager in the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring equipment is prepared safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The role combines hands‑on operational involvement with leadership responsibilities, supporting productivity, compliance, quality and customer service objectives.

Parts and Customer Support
  • Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure timely parts availability.

Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and support to workshop engineers and apprentices.
  • Coach and mentor staff to improve skills and performance.
  • Support induction, training and performance reviews.
Health, Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Promote safe working practices and PPE compliance.
  • Report and investigate accidents, hazards and near misses where required.
