Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Workshop Engineer to join our Bruntingthorpe workshop. You will service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and related machinery to ensure safe, reliable operation for customers.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, complete service reports, and manage parts and software updates, while upholding SMT GB safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification required.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Basic IT skills and ability to follow service literature.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Record time and job information electronically in real time.
• Order and manage parts for repairs and ensure software updates are applied.
