Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled service technician to service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and related machinery. You will diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and complete inspection reports with accuracy.

You will record time and job details electronically, order parts, install software updates, and uphold health and safety standards during every job. A formal engineering qualification and hands-on heavy equipment experience are required.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Mechanics or related discipline.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant equipment.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, driveline systems and electronics.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Basic IT skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair Volvo Construction Equipment and other machinery as required.
• Carry out repairs in line with quotations and agreed timescales, highlighting any additional work requirements.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Complete service inspection reports, oil sample reports and other required documentation accurately.
• Record time and job information electronically in real time.
• Order and manage parts required to complete repairs.
• Ensure software updates are installed as new versions become available.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Attend product and technical training to maintain and develop technical competence.
• Work in accordance with SMT GB's health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
