Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to service Volvo construction equipment on the HS2 project. You will perform planned maintenance, inspections, health checks, and preventive work while generating detailed inspection reports and electronic records.

The role emphasizes safety, high workmanship standards, and strong customer service as you collaborate with site teams and customers to maximise reliability and uptime. UK driving licence required and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification is essential.
• Experience repairing, servicing, and maintaining construction plant, heavy construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs, or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• High standards of workmanship.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships.
• Basic IT skills.
• Confidence using tablets, systems, and electronic reporting tools.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to travel when required.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Applicants must have experience maintaining and servicing construction plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance servicing and inspections on Volvo construction equipment supporting the HS2 project.
• Complete servicing, inspections, machine health checks, and preventive maintenance activities on equipment within HS2 environments.
• Produce detailed inspection reports, service documentation, oil sample reports, and electronic job records.
• Identify additional repair and aftermarket opportunities.
• Complete product updates, campaign work, and software updates.
• Maintain high standards of safety, customer service, housekeeping, and compliance with company policies and site procedures.
• Work closely with site teams, customers, and internal teams to maximise machine reliability, compliance, uptime, and safety.
