Job summary

Dawsongroup EMC in Brighouse is seeking a Workshop Engineer to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair a diverse specialist hire fleet, including municipal vehicles, road sweepers and other equipment.

Your background could come from HGVs, plant, MHE or similar engineering environments, with strong practical servicing, diagnostics and repair skills and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Practical experience servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing vehicles, plant or specialist equipment.
• Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• A methodical approach to diagnostics, with the ability to identify faults and complete repairs to a high standard.
• A full UK driving licence is essential, while relevant engineering qualifications, vehicle inspection, PMI or MOT preparation experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with municipal vehicles or road sweepers is beneficial, not essential, relevant transferable engineering experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs across our specialist fleet.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare applicable vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections, helping keep our fleet safe, compliant and available.
• Identify defects, complete effective repairs and accurately record work, parts used and maintenance information.
• Work safely with workshop tools and equipment while helping maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop.
