Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Workshop Engineer to support the Environment, Streetcare and Recycling workshop in Citywide, Liverpool. The role involves repairing and maintaining Greenspaces vehicles and equipment to keep operations efficient and downtime minimal.

You will work Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 3:15pm, with a Laundry Allowance and a range of staff benefits. The post sits within Neighbourhoods & Housing and offers a fixed-term full-time contract with progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • The role will carry out repair and maintenance functions to support day-to-day operations within the Environment, Streetcare and Recycling Service workshop.
  • Primarily undertake repair, service and maintenance tasks of Greenspaces vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the service positively at all times.

The role:

  • The purpose of this role will be to carry out repair and maintenance functions to support the day-to-day operations within the Environment, Streetcare and Recycling Service workshop, ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to in order to delivery an efficient and high quality service
  • The role will primarily undertake relevant repair, service and maintenance tasks of the Greenspaces vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment ensuring operations are carried out to maximise efficiency whilst minimising operational downtime
  • To develop effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and represent the Environment, Streetcare and Recycling Service in a positive manner at all times

Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 3:15pm, with a Laundry Allowance of £262.25 per annum.
