Job summary

WES, part of the RSE Group, is seeking an Electrician for a permanent position at our workshop in Basingstoke. You will work with established teams to support projects across the UK for clients in the Water sector.

The role requires a fully qualified electrician with AM2 and 2391 certificates, BS 7671 knowledge, and a proactive approach to installation, testing and maintenance. You will plan layouts, diagnose faults, and ensure safety and compliance throughout.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with expertise in installation and repair of electrical equipment.
• Experience in electrical systems installation or maintenance is preferred.
• AM2 (Gold Card) – mandatory.
• 2391 Testing and Inspection certificate – mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Install, gland, terminate cable systems mainly used in the industrial sector to BS 7671 and supplied drawings.
• Install electrical equipment to BS 7671 and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and standards.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

What Do You Need?

• Fully qualified electrician with skill in the installation and repair of all types of electrical equipment and components
• Demonstrable experience in electrical systems installation or maintenance will be considered
• AM2 (Gold Card) – mandatory.
• 2391 Testing and Inspection certificate - mandatory.
