Job summary

Key Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer or Gold Card Electrician for field-based work across the UK. The role covers installation, servicing, survey and repair of electrical equipment and switchgear, with travel to customer sites and occasional head office visits.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years' experience, ECS Gold Card, and strong fault-finding skills, reading diagrams and reporting. Independent work ethic essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrician or electrical service engineer with 5+ years' experience.
• Electrical service, maintenance or installation background.
• ECS Electricians Gold Card and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and single-line drawings.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Service Engineer or Gold Card Electrician to support the service, maintenance, survey and installation of electrical equipment and switchgear across the South of England and wider UK.

This is a varied, field-based role suited to someone with strong electrical installation or service experience, good technical knowledge and the ability to manage customer-facing work professionally.

The role is mainly home-based, with travel to customer sites and occasional visits to head office.

The Role

You will support the installation, servicing, repair and surveying of electrical apparatus, plant and switchgear systems across customer sites.

• Service and maintain electrical apparatus and plant


• Carry out repairs and replace parts where required


• Complete installation surveys on customer sites


• Install electrical equipment, apparatus and test equipment


• Produce survey, service and installation reports


• Read and work from wiring diagrams, single line drawings and technical documents


• Liaise professionally with customers on site


• Maintain accurate records and paperwork


• Take care of company assets, tools, vehicles and equipment


• Travel across the South of England and wider UK where required


• Work away from home when needed, including occasional overnight stays

This position would suit someone who enjoys working independently, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable with both hands-on electrical work and the reporting/admin side of field service.

What we are looking for
