Job summary

WES is seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join our team on a permanent basis to deliver electrical installation and maintenance across water industry projects. The role includes wiring, testing, and commissioning of dosing plant, control panels, pumps, and field instrumentation, with travel and away-from-home duties supported with accommodation.

Applicants must hold AM2 Gold Card and 2391 Testing and Inspection cert, and have knowledge of BS 7671 and relevant electrical standards.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified electrician with skill in the installation and repair of electrical equipment and components.
  • AM2 (Gold Card) - mandatory.
  • 2391 Testing and Inspection certificate - mandatory.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Install, gland, terminate cable systems in industrial settings to BS 7671 and supplied drawings.
  • Install electrical equipment to BS 7671 and manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Diagnose faulty systems and locate causes of breakdowns using test equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems for hazards and defects and ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on hazardous operation risks.

What Are We Looking For?

Due to continued growth, WES, part of the RSE Group, is looking for an Electrician to join us on a permanent basis to assist with the successful delivery of projects within the Water industry. This will include carrying out installation and maintenance on a variety of chemical dosing plant including control panels, pumps, containment systems and field instrumentation.

Please note there is travel and working away from home required as part of this role with accommodation provided by WES.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:
  • Install, gland, terminate cable systems mainly used in the industrial sector to BS 7671 and supplied drawings.
  • Install electrical equipment to BS 7671 and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
What Do You Need?
  • Fully qualified electrician with skill in the installation and repair of all types of electrical equipment and components
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical systems installation or maintenance will be considered
  • AM2 (Gold Card) - mandatory.
  • 2391 Testing and Inspection certificate - mandatory.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
